The overall winner of 24小时娱乐在线’s “Dance Your Ph.D.” contest is researcher Florence Metz of the University of Bern in Switzerland. Metz, who only had 3 weeks to turn her Ph.D. thesis on water protection into a dance video, put together a team to incorporate salsa, acro-yoga, and hip hop into the performance. “Each dance style represented a different interest group that shapes the evolution of policies around water resources,” John Bohannon reports today at 24小时娱乐在线. Metz won $1000 and a trip to Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, to present her work. But she wasn’t the only winner. This year’s contest featured 32 teams of dancers in four different categories: biology, chemistry, physics, and social science. The winners from those categories each took home $500 prizes. (Metz was also the social science winner.) To find out more about Metz and the other winners, read on at 24小时娱乐在线.
